Dragonfly exists because frontline staff need more than compliance. They need confidence, language and judgement when the difficult moment arrives.
Dragonfly CPD is the professional training platform built by Therapeutic Activities Group CIC â a multi-award winning social enterprise that has been delivering therapeutic interventions in schools and services across Wales since 2019. The frameworks on this platform are the same ones our practitioners use in live sessions with children every week.
We've seen what happens when CPD is treated as a compliance exercise. People click through slides, answer simple questions, print a certificate and forget everything by Tuesday. The training costs money. The practice doesn't change.
Dragonfly CPD was built in response to that. We wanted a platform that takes practitioners seriously â that challenges them with realistic scenarios, gives them meaningful feedback when they get something wrong, and leaves them with tools they can actually use in their next session.
Every pathway is grounded in frameworks used in real frontline children's services, education and therapeutic practice. We know this work. We've done it. We've supervised it. We've trained people in it for years. That's not a marketing claim â it's the literal reason this platform exists.
Therapeutic Activities Group CIC is a community interest company based in Wales with a multi-award winning track record of delivering therapeutic, educational and training services for children, young people and the organisations that support them.
We work across children's services, education, the voluntary sector and healthcare. Our frontline arm, The Baxter Project, has delivered over 35,000 hours of therapeutic support in schools and organisations nationwide since 2019 â working with children who have experienced trauma, ACEs and adverse experiences. Dragonfly CPD is the product of that accumulated frontline expertise.
A dragonfly spends most of its life â often two years or more â underwater as a nymph, long before anyone sees it fly.
This platform is the same shape. The visible product came after years of unseen frontline work, not instead of it.
The dragonfly is a symbol of adaptability, depth of sight and transformation. It sees what others miss. It moves with intention. It starts below the surface and rises. That felt right for what we were building â a platform for people who look carefully, act thoughtfully and are genuinely committed to making things better for children and young people.
From registration to a permanent toolbox â here's the practitioner journey on Dragonfly CPD.
Organisation staff use a registration code â automatically linked to the right pathways. Individual learners sign up directly. No IT team needed.
Structured theory and framework knowledge, built module by module. CPD hours tracked automatically, certificate on completion.
Realistic practitioner scenarios. Not simple recall â real decisions with real consequences. Detailed feedback when you get it wrong, then try again. This is where real learning happens.
Scripts, prompts and frameworks â permanently in your account. Tick them off as you use them in real sessions, revisit them any time you need them.
Complete a pathway and a named certificate is generated instantly. CPD hours logged to your transcript â ready for Ofsted, supervision, or your professional body.
One dashboard shows team completion in real time â plus supervision prompts and inspection-ready evidence. No chasing certificates. No spreadsheets.
The Toolbox tier exists because learning that doesn't become action isn't learning â it's information. We want practitioners to leave with things they can actually use in the next session.
Certificates matter â but what matters more is whether practitioners are more skilled. Every design decision on Dragonfly CPD is made with that in mind.
Getting something wrong is part of learning. We don't hide that. Our Applied modules are built around feedback that teaches â not a pass/fail gate that tells you nothing.
Every pathway is built on frameworks with real evidence bases, used in real services. TRM, MI, DNAV, PACE â these aren't invented to fill a gap in a training catalogue.
As a social enterprise, our surplus is reinvested in services for children and young people. Investing in Dragonfly CPD is investing in more than a training platform.
Not everyone works in a well-resourced organisation. Individual licences exist because motivated practitioners deserve good CPD regardless of where they work.
There are hundreds of online training platforms. Here's what makes Dragonfly different.
Our training content is written by people who have worked directly with children and young people â not instructional designers reading a Wikipedia article.
TRM, MI, DNAV, PACE â frameworks with real evidence bases, used in real services. The same ones our practitioners use in sessions with children every week.
Every pathway unlocks a toolbox of practical tools, scripts and prompts that stay in your account permanently â not content you lose access to when the licence expires.
Therapeutic Activities Group CIC has been working in and alongside children's services, education and the voluntary sector in Wales since 2019. This platform is built from inside that experience â not in response to a gap in a market.
Whether you're curious about a specific pathway, want to talk about an organisational package, or just want to know if this is right for your team â we're a real team and we respond to real questions.
What practitioners and organisations say about Dragonfly CPD.
"The Applied modules are unlike anything else we've used. The answers are all plausible â you have to actually think, not just spot the obvious one."
"I've done dozens of online safeguarding courses. This is the first one where I actually changed how I work the next day. The toolbox is sitting open on my desk right now."
"The manager dashboard makes our annual CPD review effortless. I can evidence exactly who has completed what, with scores and renewal dates, in about two minutes."
